The Singapore Network Information Centre (SGNIC) will implement VerifiedID@SG, a pilot scheme that aims to enhance the trustworthiness of .sg domain names and prevent abuse of domain names by fake or stolen identity on 2 May 2013.
The new scheme will apply to all new .SG domain name registration (i.e. domain names ending with .sg – e.g. com.sg, org.sg, net.sg, edu.sg, per.sg, gov.sg and .sg).
Purpose of Implementing VerifiedID@SG for Domain Registration
VerifiedID@SG needs the administrative contact of a ‘. sg’ domain name to verify the identification as well as contact info of the registrant.
