In this article, we will be sharing how to create a static page easily in WordPress along with some page builder to design your page efficiently.
By default, WordPress will create a blog as your home page. Therefore, you need to create a new static page and set it as your homepage. Follow these simple steps and you’ll be able to create your static page in no time:-
- Login to your WordPress dashboard
2. Go to “Pages” > “Add New”
- Add in all the necessary details of your new static page
After going to the “Add New” page, you should be able to see something like the image shown below. Then, you would need to fill in all the necessary details of your new static page such as page title, permalink (or URL), featured image (1,200px x 628px), meta title, meta description, and the template to use.
You’re able to fill in these details by navigating to “Settings” > “Page”
Note: For meta title & meta description, you would need to install an additional WordPress plugin such as SEOPress or RankMath.
- Click “Publish”
- On your WordPress dashboard sidebar, go to “Settings” > “Reading”
6. On the “Your homepage display”, select “A static page”. Then, select the page you’ve created earlier just like the image below and click “Save Changes”.

Now, it’s time to design and add in content into your static page. To do so, you need to have a page builder. Without a page builder, it will be hard for you to design your website that looks beautiful.
There are 2 different page builders that we recommend our clients to use on their website – Elementor and Oxygen Builder. Both of these page builders are designed for a specific group of users and have the capability to design a professional website with it.
Elementor
Elementor is an easy-to-use drag-and-drop builder for beginners to design their websites in WordPress. If you are new to website design and looking for a simple page builder, then Elementor will be a good choice for you to get started.
Oxygen Builder
If you are looking for speed, and flexibility in designing your website, Oxygen is the best choice for you. The learning curve for Oxygen Builder will be steeper as you are required to have some basic HTML & CSS knowledge. I’m personally using Oxygen Builder, and I’m happy with it.
