Exabytes 2022 Supported 600 Women through our AWEWE Sponsorship Programme
Exabytes launched the Accelerate Women Entrepreneurship programme in 2022 which was from February 2022 to June 2022.
This programme helped 380 women entrepreneurs in Malaysia and Singapore improve their entrepreneurship abilities and establish an online presence in order to launch their online businesses through the 2022 AWEWE programme.
AWEWE, or also commonly known as the #WomenWeCan campaign provided free workshops and free resources for women to build their online presence and grow their business.
Additionally, Exabytes has assisted over 220 young ladies in Penang who are students between the ages of 15 and 17 in developing their digital abilities and preparing for the future.
To make this campaign a success, Exabytes partnered with Polaris Hub, Mumpreneurs Go Places, Infocomm Media Development Authority, Social Media Mom, She Leads Tech, Tech Dome Penang, Affin Bank, WINGS, People’s Association, Woodlands, JCI Pearl and Jawatankuasa Pembangunan Wanita dan Keluarga (JPWK).

Let’s Plant A tree with Exabytes
As part of our ESG initiatives, Let’s Plant a Tree was introduced by Exabytes in collaboration with The Habitat Foundation, to lessen environmental deterioration while increasing the preservation of mother nature. The campaign began in April 2022 and lasted throughout 2022.
There were three different sessions at three different locations.

The campaign was successful as Exabytes managed to reach its goal of planting 1000 trees for environmental improvement, with the help of our clients’ support. To kickstart this event, Exabees, along with PIFWA and members from The Habitat Foundation, planted 100 trees at Kampung Sungai Acheh during Session 1 in April 2022.
Connecting & Transforming the World
World Congress on Innovation and Technology (WCIT) Conference
The 26th World Congress on Innovation & Technology (WCIT 2022 Malaysia) also known as the “Olympics of the Globe’s Information Technology Industry” took place on the 13th to 15th of September 2022. As one of the biggest and most prominent ICT conferences in the world, it included panel discussions with key influencers, business moguls, political figures, entrepreneurs, and academics from more than 80 nations.
Exabytes was honoured to be represented by Ms Cheong Peng, the Vice President of Digital Sales as one of the panellists during the The Evolution and Future of eCommerce panel discussion and to be one of the sponsors for the event. Mr Chan Kee Siak, the Founder and CEO of Exabytes was also the moderator for the Harnessing the New Engine of Growth: Opportunities in Digital Economy panel discussion conducted in conjunction with WCIT 2022.
CSR / ESG Campaigns
Exabytes has contributed to its CSR/ESG in various channels such as the AWEWE campaign, where Exabytes supported 600 Women through our AWEWE Sponsorship Programme and co-organised the Mobile App Challenge & Web Dev Aspiring for Women 2022, along with Tech Dome Penang. Exabytes was also one of the sponsors for DevFest George Town 2022 and Cyber Youth Singapore’s YouthxHack 2022. As for the Digital for Life festival, Exabytes organised multiple workshop sessions, working closely with the team from Cyber Youth Singapore and was awarded at the Digital for Life – Singapore Appreciation Dinner for all our efforts. In addition, Exabytes provided website building activities at the Lit DISCOvery 2022 where we at a later date provided a free workshop and gave out free domain & hosting during the LIT Masterclass event co-organised by Exabytes and the Youth NTUC in Singapore.. During the STEM Showcase 2022, Exabytes sponsored RM3000 and cultivated digital literacy amongst students. Besides, Exabytes teamed up with all Penang Talents and well-known VCs & PE to discuss startup challenges during the 50th Anniversary of Penang’s Industrialisation. Exabytes, which spearheaded the ‘Startups’ topic for this anniversary, hosted the “My Penang Startup Stories: The Funding Ecosystem & Penang Capabilities” event on July 27, 2022. InvestPenang and Exabytes also organised The Tech Pitch 2022 which was accessible to all Penang-based tech companies and focused on cutting-edge technological initiatives, goods, and services with a social component. Another contribution from Exabytes would be funding RM2,000 and conducting workshops for 200 students during the Penang International Science Fair 2022 and sponsoring a website for George Town City Centre (GTCC).

The Malaysia Website Awards, Singapore Website Awards and Indonesia Website Awards hosted by Exabytes Group of Companies, aims to recognise and honour the top web developers, online designers, and web agencies in the country for their excellent performance, talent, and effort. The all new Website Awards across three countries is set to launch soon and the Award Ceremonies are expected to be held in the first half of 2023.
