Exabytes, Southeast Asia’s leading All-in-one Business Cloud, Digital and eCommerce solutions provider has successfully completed its Accelerate Women Entrepreneurship with Exabytes 2022 campaign with an astonishing outcome.
The campaign had come to an end on 27 June 2022 after running for 5 months from February 2022 till June 2022.
In conjunction with International Women’s Day 2022, the AWEWE initiative, supported by YB Chong Eng, Penang State Executive Councillor (EXCO) for Social Development and Non-Islamic Affairs, has achieved its objective of supporting women.
Exabytes once again through AWEWE has helped women to build their digital skills and entrepreneurship skills with the notion of unlocking opportunities for women owned businesses.
In addition, AWEWE was committed to promote gender equality in entrepreneurship and enhance the financial stability and independence of stay-at-home moms who start their own business.
There were many programmes lined up in the AWEWE campaign by Exabytes for women.
All programmes were exclusively developed to cater women entrepreneurs with an opportunity to further alleviate their businesses by providing necessary tools and digital business solutions.
Through the 2022 AWEWE campaign, Exabytes had supported a total of 380 women entrepreneurs in Malaysia and Singapore to enhance their entrepreneur skills and build an online presence to kickstart their online business.
In addition, Exabytes has also supported over 220 young women consisting of students aged 15 to 17 in Penang to enhance their digital skills and prepare them for their future.
Besides, many women were able to develop their own website, domain and hosting through Exabytes’ sponsorship programme and take their digital skills to another level.
Moreover, through AWEWE workshops and webinars, women entrepreneurs were able to learn the correct method to grow their online business and the precautions they should take in order to run a business steadily.

Here is a brief summary of AWEWE activities that took place throughout the five months of the campaign:
How to Build a Website in Two days
This workshop was carried out with 2 modules over 2 days each month, with a total of five workshops throughout the campaign period.
Exabytes partnered up with IMDA and PolarisHub for this event, where PolarisHub is in charge of providing training for the workshop sessions.
By joining these hands-on website building workshops, women were given the opportunity to build a website with clear guidance and free resources were provided such as domain and hosting by Exabytes.
Sharing Session – Learn from the Experienced 1: When Is The Right Time to Have A Website For My Business
In this webinar, professional women entrepreneurs, Ms Vanessa Ong and Ms Valerie Aw were invited to be the speakers of this sharing session.
This webinar focused on sharing stories and advice from the knowledgeable and experienced.
The webinar looked at the problems faced in running a business, the differences between online and offline, the benefits and drawbacks of a website, and provided practical advice from experienced entrepreneurs as a reference on the right procedure and steps needed to be followed in establishing an online business.
Towards the end of the webinar, there was Q&A session where audience members could engage and ask questions.
Sharing Session – Learn From The Experienced 2: What Every Business Have And Needs
In this webinar, Director and Principal Consultant of Marketing On Point, Ms Yasmin Begum was invited as a speaker to share on the need of every business in order to become successful.
The whole webinar was fruitful with tips and clear explanation of the proper strategy needed to run a business successfully.
Some of the highlights of the webinar were the sharing on the importance of customer focused business strategy and how to weave it into branding, marketing plans and product to achieve businesses goals.
WebDev for Aspiring Women 2022
In this WebDev challenge, Exabytes had partnered up with Penang Tech Dome, who is in charge of organising the event.
The challenge was opened to female school students in Malaysia who are in Form 3 till Form 5.
For this challenge, Exabytes had sponsored the workshop on how to build a website, provided free domain and hosting for all participants to build their webite and also cash prizes and medals for the winners.
Apart from that, Exabytes had also joined the event as judges for the challenge consisting of top 10 finalists.
The challenge was equipped with knowledge on latest web development tools to assist students to create their ideal websites and enhance their creativity.
Digital Resilience Workshop- Enhancing Cybersecurity For Online Safety And Healthiness
In this workshop, Exabytes partnered with SheLeadsTech to organise the event. SheLeadsTech is the banner program of One In Tech dedicated to building a gender diverse and inclusive global community of cyber professionals.
Initiated in 2017, SheLeadsTech empowers women to enhance their professional skills and advocate for their career advancement.
The webinar had cybersecurity and privacy experts as speakers to share and discuss the key cybersecurity challenges faced in operating a website business.
Besides, experts had also shared on the tips and tricks to identify and safeguard businesses against cybersecurity threats.
There were 3 experts invited as speakers in this webinar, namely; Ms Isha Agarwal, Ms Cheryl Lam and Ms Adeline Chan who shared exclusive knowledge on cybersecurity threats.
About Accelerate Women Entrepreneurship with Exabytes
AWEWE is a campaign that aims to improve the digital skills of female entrepreneurs by giving them necessary resources and training to help them expand their businesses online.
AWEWE has accelerated the use of digital technology among SMEs and female business owners through a series of projects that will further empower women entrepreneurs.
The Accelerate Women Entrepreneurship with Exabytes programme, which ran from February through June 2022, had opened registration for women in Malaysia and Singapore.
